Email marketing agency pricing

Fixed pricing, based on a clearly scoped project. System builds from $1,500, growth retainers from $2,500 a month, and an exact figure in writing before you commit to anything.

We work on a fixed scope, agreed before we start, so you know what you are paying and what you are getting for it. Every price below is a starting point. Your exact email marketing cost depends on your list size, your platform, and how many systems you need built. The free email audit is where we scope that out. No pressure and no pitch.

How much does email marketing cost?

For a small senior agency, a fixed-scope system build starts around $1,500 and an ongoing growth retainer starts around $2,500 a month. A freelance email marketer typically runs $1,000 to $4,000 a month. An in-house email hire costs $110,000 to $150,000 a year once benefits, overhead and tools are counted.

Those are starting points, not quotes. The real number depends on your list size, whether a platform migration is involved, and how many systems need building. That is what the free email audit produces: an exact figure, in writing, before you commit.

Three ways to work with us

One-time system build

Starting at $1,500

Fixed price, fixed timeline, fixed deliverables.

A single email system, built once: a welcome sequence, a reactivation campaign, a webinar funnel, whatever the free email audit says will move revenue fastest for you.

What is included

  • Strategy and copy for the full sequence
  • Build and testing inside your existing platform
  • One round of results review after launch

Proof. US Cryotherapy generated $30,000 from a single reactivation campaign to a dormant list. Autism 360 generated $94,905 in 21 days from one webinar sequence.

Growth retainer

Starting at $2,500 / month

Ongoing campaigns, automations and optimisation.

We run your entire email marketing programme: promotions, newsletters, automation build-out and continuous improvement. This is where email marketing ROI compounds, and where the retainer earns its fee back several times over.

What is included

  • Monthly campaign calendar and copy
  • Automation build-out and refinement
  • Monthly performance review and next-step plan

Proof. All CRNA Schools took revenue from $3,000 to $8,000 a month over six months on an ongoing retainer. Legend Archery grew email revenue 260% in three months.

Full partnership (build, then retainer)

Build from $3,500, then a monthly retainer

Prove the model, then scale it.

We build the first system to prove the model, then move into ongoing growth once it is live. This is the path most of our long-term clients are on, and the one with the strongest track record.

What is included

  • Everything in the system build
  • A defined path into an ongoing retainer once the first system is live
  • Priority scheduling for the next system as the relationship grows

Proof. OfficeNamePlates.com moved average monthly revenue from about $17,000 to $27,000, a 59% increase, in three months, starting from a single system build.

The guarantee

If we do not deliver what is scoped, on the timeline we agreed, we keep working until we do. No extra charge.

Agency, freelancer, or in-house?

Before the price, the model. There are four ways to get email done, each costs something different and breaks somewhere different. This is written straight, including where hiring us is the wrong call.

An email marketing agency

Retainers commonly $2,000 to $8,000 a month; fixed-scope builds $1,500 to $15,000

The work spans strategy, copy, design, deliverability and analytics at once, and nobody in-house owns it end to end. You are paying for a team and for someone accountable for the number.

A freelance email marketer

Freelance email marketing rates run about $1,000 to $4,000 a month, or $75 to $150 an hour

The strategy is set and you need execution in one lane: copy, or Klaviyo flows, or design. A freelancer is the right answer more often than agencies admit. It stops working when the month needs all of those disciplines at once.

An in-house hire

Roughly $110,000 to $150,000 a year all in: $80k to $100k salary, plus 25 to 40% on benefits and overhead, plus tools

Volume and complexity justify a full-time owner who lives in your product and data. One hire is rarely senior in deliverability, design and lifecycle strategy at once, so the periodic deep work still gets contracted out.

Doing it yourself

Platform fees only, plus your time

The list is small, the sending is simple, and the founder still has spare hours. It stops being the cheap option the moment that time is worth more spent elsewhere, or deliverability slides while nobody is watching.

The longer version, including where each model fails in practice, is in outsourced vs in-house email marketing.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an email marketing agency cost?
For a small senior agency, expect fixed-scope system builds from about $1,500 and growth retainers from about $2,500 a month. Ours start there. Large full-service agencies charge well above that. The number moves with your list size, your platform, and how many systems you need built, which is what the free email audit is for: you get an exact figure in writing before you commit to anything.
Why don't you list exact prices instead of ranges?
Every list, platform and scope is different. A welcome sequence for a 2,000-person list and a full webinar funnel for a 50,000-person list are not the same project. The free email audit is where we give you an exact number, in writing, before you commit to anything.
What does fixed-scope pricing actually mean?
We agree the deliverables, the timeline and the price before any work starts, and that number does not move unless you change the scope. You are not billed by the hour and there is no meter running. If the work takes longer than we estimated, that is our problem, not your invoice.
Is an email marketing retainer worth it over a one-time project?
A one-time build has an end: it ships, you review it once, and it runs. A retainer is worth it when you want someone running the campaign calendar every week, watching deliverability, and building the next system each month. Most clients start with a build to see the result, then move to a retainer once it proves out.
Do you require long-term contracts?
No. System builds are one-time, fixed-scope projects. Retainers run month to month once you are in one. There is no 12-month agreement to sign to work with us.
What if I'm not ready for a monthly retainer?
Start with a system build. Most clients on a retainer today started with a single build and moved into ongoing work once they saw the result.
Do you take a percentage of revenue instead of a flat fee?
No. A percentage-of-revenue model gives an agency an incentive to inflate what counts as email-driven revenue rather than actually growing it. We price the work, not a cut of your sales.
What email platforms do you work with?
Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, HubSpot, ConvertKit, Drip, Keap and GoHighLevel. If you are on something else, tell us on the audit call and we will let you know if it is a fit. There is no migration required to work with us; we build inside the platform you already use.
How fast will I see results?
It depends on the system. Autism 360 saw results in 21 days from one campaign. All CRNA Schools took six months on an ongoing retainer to move from $3,000 to $8,000 a month. The audit gives you a realistic timeline for your specific situation, not a generic promise.
What happens after the audit call?
If there is a clear opportunity, we send a written proposal with the exact scope and price. No pressure to decide on the call itself.
